Client: RetroSpec Guitars Inc in Lake Mary, Florida. They rebuild and patinate new Gibson guitars to bear a clearer resemblance to the original specifics from the 1950’s. The project was also a collaboration with Bartlett Guitars in Ontario, Canada.
Mission: The iconic Les Paul-model from Gibson was taken out of production in 1960. What would it look like if production had gone on throughout the 60’s?
Result: A great deal of curiosity and a very active interest in guitars with the client made this project become real. The guitar is a fully functioning beauty produced with close attention to all details that come into play: the material, the lacquer, the methods. So far, it is available in just a few exclusive copies, but with more to come. The project has caught the eyes and ears of media and guitar fans worldwide.
